Marylebone is a chic residential area with a village feel, centred around the independent boutiques and up-market restaurants of Marylebone High Street. Tourists queue for Madame Tussauds wax museum and Sherlock Holmes Museum, the latter housed at 221b Baker Street, the address of the famous literary detective. The Georgian palace that houses the Wallace Collection, a collection of period art and furniture, characterizes the elegant architecture of the area.
Part of the City of Westminster, it is of course a very affluent part of London and certainly has many great places to visit. It doesn't matter if you are looking for history, food, fun or a mystery, you can find it all in Marylebone.
